PASSION FIRST. CREDIBILITY ALWAYS.
Why a project born in Perpignan is looking across the Atlantic.
A personal conviction, not an official campaign.
Wine Else? is an emerging independent initiative conceived in Perpignan, in the heart of the Roussillon. It starts from a simple belief: wines grown in Languedoc and Roussillon deserve to be discovered and evaluated on their own merits, including by the American audience that already loves French wine.
Its founder is pursuing the idea out of passion and conviction, without personal remuneration and without seeking funding or an immediate financial commitment from growers. We are starting small, listening to the industry and trying to build something of lasting use.
The name is provisional. The intent is real.
ELSE.WINE is the working name. The else.wine domain has not yet been purchased. We will not pretend to have secured a name, built a trade network or won the backing of estates before those things happen.
The public prototype is currently presented at les-vignerons-du-sud.vercel.app. This transparent distinction matters: credibility begins with admitting which stage a project has reached.
Our non-negotiables.
It is a vision, not a claim to represent the whole wine region. The platform is independent from the CIVL, CIVR, appellation syndicates and estates unless an explicit relationship is established and disclosed.
- People before prestige: the grower, the land and the craft come first.
- Accuracy over marketing exaggeration: no invented partnerships, scores, awards or distribution.
- Consent over appropriation: individual estates should choose how they are represented.
- US-first clarity: language and education tailored to the actual target audience.
- Respect for wine and its consumers: responsible adult enjoyment, not pressure or glamour around excess.
A better measure of success.
We do not measure success by how loudly we announce a movement. We will measure it by the number of real conversations, the quality of published information, the trust of growers who decide to participate and the relevance of the resource to American readers and wine professionals.
Our commitment is long-term. We are pursuing this vision with determination, building trust and practical steps along the way.
Get in touchPassion at its heart.
Care in every detail.
WINE ELSE? is a project driven by conviction and intended to be carried out with professional discipline. Our preparation includes the editorial, relationship and logistical dimensions needed to introduce Roussillon wines credibly to American audiences.
We plan to consult the relevant professionals on transport, storage conditions, potential samples or tastings, schedules and each participant’s responsibilities. Import requirements will be reviewed with appropriately licensed operators.
Each step must be defined with the people responsible before it is carried out. Providers still need to be selected and arrangements validated; our role is to develop and coordinate this process with care.
There is more to discover.
Help us build an honest bridge between the growers of southern France and the American wine audience.
